We are happy to announce Check Point Quantum R82.10 has been released TODAY!

Enterprises are rapidly adopting AI to achieve impressive productivity gains. However, AI systems also introduce unprecedented new security challenges.
Traditional detection and response frameworks are no longer enough to protect today’s distributed, hybrid mesh networks.
It is imperative that enterprises shift left to prevention-first security.

R82.10 enables security for the AI transformation, Hybrid Mesh Network, and advanced threats.
R82.10 delivers stronger threat prevention, higher scalability & performance, and greater operational simplicity.
Architectural Updates: R82.10 features an upgraded OS based on Linux kernel 5.14 versus 4.xx in previous releases. This release runs exclusively in UPPAK mode (User Space Performance Pack).

  • For the full “What’s New”, Release Notes and more information, please refer to R82.10 Home Page  [sk183506]

This release is available for customers who are interested in implementing the new features.

We will make it the recommended version after significant adoption. It will then be available in the 'Showing Recommended Packages' section in the CPUSE tab in Gaia portal.

Check Point will be monitoring the adoption of the release closely as well as any issues that may arise.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any feedback or questions

Best Regards

If I upgrade a 3900 series appliance to R82.10 GA, am I still okay to manage it from R82 or should management be upgraded as well for this scenario?

I am leaning towards I should upgrade my management first, but I figured I'd ask.

Hey @CaseyB

No need, just have jumbo 19 installed on mgmt, at least for R82.

Congrats on the release of another step forward in security!

Is there any update on PMTR-110145, supporting SDWAN with ElasticXL?

Hi @CaseyB

Yes, your management server can remain on R82.
Please note that best practice is to upgrade to the recommended Jumbo Hotfix, which is currently Take 44.

Best regards,
Hen.

ElasticXL and SD-WAN will be supported.

QA is in final tests, it may require a hot fix due to last minute bug.

Please mail me directly amitna@checkpoint.com

I have a customer who recently purchased a 3920 and a Smart-1 700S.
Is it suitable to install R82.10 directly on the SMS?
