1) Permission Profiles in SmartConsole

What it is

SmartConsole supports Permission Profiles, enabling you to define granular user permissions and access levels across management and policy tasks. Instead of broad admin roles, you can configure permissions precisely - from read-only log viewers to full policy editors.

Use cases

• Least-privilege enforcement: Grant only the permissions each admin/operator needs to reduce risk.
• Audit-friendly delegation: Assign different profiles to teams (e.g., Network, Security, Compliance) while maintaining governance.
• Safe multi-admin workflows: Prevent accidental changes by limiting access to sensitive actions (policy changes, installs, object editing, log access, etc.).

• Safer maintenance windows: Trigger Backup/Snapshot-style preparation before upgrades or major changes, and restore when needed.
• Streamlined lifecycle operations: Install/Uninstall Jumbos/Hotfixes and run Version Upgrades from a single place.
• Operational reporting: Generate License Report or export relevant gateway info quickly for audit/support workflows.

• Real-time alerting: Get notified immediately when critical events occur (policy install failures, suspicious activity, gateway issues) - no need to constantly monitor logs.
• Automated incident workflow: Automatically alert the right channel or create a ticket, so the workflow starts instantly and consistently.
• Incident history & audit trail: Track events and responses end-to-end for reporting and post-incident review.

From the Infinity Services tab in SmartConsole, you can quickly open Playblocks and start customizing your own Quantum event-based automations (alerts, Teams/Slack notifications, ticket creation, and more).

Infinity Events now let customers search logs using simple, AI-powered free-text queries - no need to know query syntax.
