Maestro Madness
Hello,
In the LAB env we have what you can see on the attached screenshot. MDS is running with NG MDS eval license for 50 gws and 5 domains. it is clean 80.40 installation.
This error appears when I try to configure anything related to VSX (System, Router, Switch).
Any suggestions which might point me to the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Marcin
Was the domain / cma portion attached correctly ... should look like CPSM-DOMAINS-5 CPSB-GBLP
I must have been blind and did not spot that there is second product. Now it is working after adding 2nd license. It was added also with cplic and then mdsstop/mdstart.
Thanks everyone !
Im not licensing expert by any means, but just to be sure, can you send the output of cplic print -x? I recall having message like this ages ago and I just applied full eval license and then it went away.
[Expert@CP-MDS-8040:0]# cplic print -x

It is been installed today and I did mdsstop / mdsstart after applying just to be sure. Do you suggest re-applying the same license?
You can try that, but not sure if it might make a difference. I know sometimes on the gateway, when you apply eval, it may give a message that since number of cores changed, it would need a reboot, but if you never got that warning, then rebooting would most likely not be needed, though since its a lab, it does not hurt to do it.

I have deleted and re-added license, but still the same thing. Anyone ? : )
Sorry brother, not sure...if reboot does not do anything, maybe Provider-1 gurus can help : - )

What do you mean by "attached correctly"? I have installed license on MDS with the command cplic put ...
Interesting thing is that I do not want to add domain, but a vsx feature. Why would it even bother?
When starting mds on the CLI in fact I can see that something is wrong with the license.

So are you installing management environment as MDS or not?
I also note the license IP from the CLI output doesn't match to that of the mgmt object in your screenshot.
I have MDS at .49 and Management Server at .50. I am requesting license for .49 and apply it on MDS. Is it wrong?
MDS has other license commands:
cp_conf lic add
or
cplic db_add
See Multi-Domain Security Management R81.10 Administration Guide p.162ff - seems you did not license the MDM correctly...

Hm, maybe thats it...I remember in old days, before R80, when I worked on R77.xx flavors of Provider-1, I always used cplic put local command to apply the license and never had any issues.
