CheckMates Go:
Maestro Madness
Dear All,
After upgrading my company's PCs from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (not using a clean install, but rather using the WSUS installation file), I'm unable to log into SmartCenter via the local SmartConsole.
I've followed suggestions 1 and 4 in sk169253, but they haven't resolved the issue.
Has anyone else experienced the same problem?
Thank you.
Build 1051 dates from early 2025. You could try the latest build, 1056.
Hey Giga,
I agree with Alex, definitely always use latest smart console build.
Andy
This usually means either an issue on the Server or authentication problem.
Just to verify, can you please try to connect from a different PC to see it works properly?
if it works from different system something broke on the system what you use now for testing. Then you can try:
To resolve the problem, rebuild the local client cache:
Rename the local client cache folder:
For R81 and R81.10 Version:
'%localappdata%\Check Point\R81\SmartConsole\UserSettings' to
'%localappdata%\Check Point\R81\SmartConsole\UserSettings.old'.
For R81.20 Version:
C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Check Point\R81.20\SmartConsole\UserSettings to
C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Check Point\R81.20\SmartConsole\UserSettings.old
Note - This clears cached settings in the client such as username, server IP address, certificate trust etc.
Relaunch SmartConsole and log into the affected domain server.
Hi Tal_Paz-Fridman
There is no solution, and the same error message appears.
2 questions:
1) what is output of $FWDIR/scripts/./cpm_status.sh and api status?
and
2) can you log in using https://mgmt_ip:portnumber/smartconsole
Andy
Hey Giga,
Just to be 100% sure, does it show successfull status when you run api status on the management? If answer is yes, did you indeed try a different PC and if so, did that work? If answer is yes to 2nd question, then problem is on the machine you are trying this from. Maybe make sure latest netframe version is installed.
However, if you canNOT connect from multiple windows machines, then issue would seem to be something management related.
Andy
I would try to following to narrow the issue:
1| Use a different Windows 11 machine, preferably a clean installation
2| Can you check if the upgraded machine allows TLS 1.2?
