how to check smart-1 sending syslog to remote server
We have a pair of Smart-1 appliances running in a HA? Is there a way to verify if the passive Smart-1 is expected to send syslogs when configured to forward logs to a remote syslog server?

Hi @tavi0906
The two Smart-1 is different from each other.
I usually configure the cp_log_export configuration independently (in CLI) on Smart-1 appliances, so I can be amost 100% sure all of the logs will be forwarded to the syslog server if the secondary has been promoted to Primary.. I know this is oldschool little bit, but safe.
Have you configured the syslog export via SmartConsole?

Yes, we have configured it. My question is will the secondary Smart-1 still send syslogs to the remote server if it has not been promoted to primary?

Keep in mind, just to clarify the wording here...primary will ALWAYS be primary and secondary will ALWAYS be secondary, unless rebuilt. Either one can be active or standby. So, if secondary is currently standby, then I dont believe it would be sending those logs over, only whichever one is active, but maybe someone else can confirm for sure.

I sort of figured thats how it works, but since we only have one customer using management HA, wanted to confirm 🙂
