VSX VS Cluster State in Smartconsole
Hello everybody,
at the moment we have a VS on VSX cluster that has the state down on the second member. I can see that in cphaprob state and we have a case open about this problem.
But in SmartConsole the Status is OK. Is this a normal behaviour or are we experiencing a monitoring bug?

What reason is reported for the VS being down in the various cphaprob commands?

It's a problem with missing vlan interfaces since update to take 89. It's under investigation. But that is not the question here. I want to know if the state in SmartConsole is wrong by design or if we have an issue. I have no lab at the moment to verify this.
Regards,
Jan

I only recall that status being helpful for reachability / SIC issues or security blade problems.

Ok then it's by design. So one needs always additonal tools to monitor VSX via SNMP. This should be an enhancement. If it is a hw cluster if one machine is down it will show an error.

At this point VSNext likely negates this since it requires a different approach as it will show a single VS object in SmartConsole.

We see the same issue with VSX R81.10 T150 on a VS.
An interface has disappeared in the list of monitored interfaces, the standby VS is always seen as down, no issues reported in Smart Console.
SR is open.

Same for us. Our supporter said that she have seen some of this issues in the last weeks. We are waiting for a debug script.

We also see a bunch of warp interfaces which have appeared when we have only one virtual switch connected.

I'm adding my vote to this, too. JHF 89 on VSX is not good. I had the highest VLAN missing on a VS (also VLAN on a bond). Rolled back and installed JHF 84 instead. It came up as expected. I had a multi-hour Diamond TAC call today for it.
@Chris_Atkinson I'll send you my SR if it will help. I uploaded a few cluster kdebugs and a lot of copy/paste details.
