SmartConsole Hit count and color

hi there,

We just upgrade to R80.10.

Couple questions about the new UI in Smart Console.

The hit count and comment columns are now by default not listed.

We have to manually check them to display.

the question is if there is a way so this 'settings' will stay after we close the SmartConsole?

Every time when we close and re-enter Smart Console, those column setting reset back to default. Is there a way to save the column settings?

Another question is about object color.  In the R77, we can edit the color name/lable.  For example, instead of color "blue", we can change it to "inside net".  It seems in the R80.10, the host/network objects do not allow you to change the color name.  The old color option remains in the check point gateway objects, but not host/network/group objects.

Anyone has any insight about this?  is there a way to edit the color name/label?

Gateway objects still use the legacy APIs (and UI), which allow for renaming colors. 

The R80.x APIs do not allow you to rename the colors.

As for the default columns that show up, I'm not sure.

Creating new colors with defined name is actually quite interesting thing  Would be happy to see it in further releases.

There is a way to make the Hits and Comments columns appear in a rule-base by default rather than re-enabling them. See Tip of the day: Clear your personal display settings 

The replacement for renaming color names is creating tags - which allows having as many different tags as you like. See https://community.checkpoint.com/message/19754-did-you-know-smartconsole-tags

We will try out the tag system.

Under the old setup, we pick different colors for different sites.  then when we create objects (network/group/nodes), we pick the color based on the site that the object resides.  By doing this, when we look at the firewall policy we can easily spot any unusual rules based on the color.  

For example, we set DMZ objects as yellow, and inside network objects as blue.  When browsing the firewall policy, all the rules would stand out if we see some "yellow" objects to "blue" objects; or, we would easily notice when there is a different color other than yellow/blue appearing on the DMZ firewall rules.  

And as the number of color being used increase (10+), it would be nice to label the color name by our site list, so when we create a new object we can pick the right color easily.

Anyway, just want to show a use-case about the naming the color label.
