Cluster HA Checkpoint SMS between virtual machine and physical

I am wanting to create a cluster between a virtualized SMS Checkpoint and a hardware Checkpoint SMS device, is it possible? If possible, are the steps still normal or are there any caveats?

Its possible, I had done it before. Is it supported? Im fairly positive its not.

This is indeed supported. See sk39345 - Management High Availability restrictions:

• Management High Availability between a Virtual Machine in VMWare and a real physical machine was tested and supported.

We are planning to add detailed information to the Release Notes for each version what HA configurations are supported (On perm physical member and Cloud member)

Management HA is imho obsolete if a virtualized SMS can be used - as long as the physical infrastructure itself is constructed in a safe way (there are different possibilities for that).
