Is it worth installing the latest JHF/JHA before upgrading the minor version? (R81.10 --> R81.20)
Hi everyone, currently our gateways and mgmt servers are running r81.10 with JHA (Take 45) installed. We are planning to upgrade all to r81.20,
I see that in CPUSE it shows JHA (Take 95) is recommended to install.
My question is, is there any value in firstly installing this latest JHA before upgrading them to 81.20?
Thanks!

No - update the CPUSE agent to the last version if needed.

Thanks for the swift reply! I can confirm CPUSE agent is auto updated to latest version.
A slightly different question, in CPUSE the R81.20 upgrade isn't listed as a "recommended" option. However in the "show all packages" I do see some different blink package options, the relevant ones are seemingly:
- R81.20 Security Management + JHF T10 for appliances and open servers
- R81.20 Gaia Fast Deployment Image for Security Gateway
- R81.20 Gaia Fast Delpoyment Image for Security Management
If I'm understanding correctly though, blink packages are in essence a full install? Further indicated by their hefty file size.. (7-8GB)
"Blink packages installation is equivalent to the Major version installation:"
I remember a few years back having to manually download the target upgrade file and uploading it to the gateways. Is there a recommended method for obtaining the correct upgrade file?

Blink is indeed a full version but it includes also the Jumbo so it will save you some time to install it in one-shot instead of two steps.
After you upgrade the management I recommend to download the package once to the management machine using the Smart Console ((manage & settings -> packages repository) and then deploy on the gateways simply by selecting one (or more) and then right-click (or Actions) -> Version Upgrade
It's easy to use and easy to monitor
