How to Mass Create Users, Groups, and Policies on Linux – Step by Step Script Walkthrough

In this video/post, we explore the User & Group Manager script created by a Latin American engineer. The menu offers six simple options:

• Create User Group – Define a new group on the system.
• Create User Template – Set up a default template for new users (home directory, shell, etc.).
• Create User(s) – Add one or more individual users, optionally assigning them to existing groups.
• Publish Changes – Apply all pending user/group creations to the system.
• Install Policy – Deploy security or access policies (sudo rules, password policies, etc.).
• Exit – Quit the script safely without applying uncommitted changes.

This tool is especially useful when you need to create many users, groups, or policies at once, perfect for mass deployment and scaling. It saves time and ensures consistency across the system.

Always validate the script in a controlled environment first, create backups before making changes, play around, experiment, and most importantly, enjoy the process of learning and automating.
