Exam Update

Hello,

I am currently in the process of studying for CCSA R81.20, however, I recently found out that R82 was announced.

Not very familiar with how Check Point updates their certification exams so my question is, do I have til the end of the year to test for it or will it be retired soon when R82 comes out?

How long until they usually update their exams after the version comes out?

Pretty new here so I'd appreciate any input greatly.

Don't worry about time.

You still have plenty of time.

The new version courses might take a few months before release and then the exams follow that.

Even after the courses are released, and then afterwards the exams, the previous version exams are still available and very much valid.

They don't retire the previous version exam for a period of time after the new version exams are released.

That time is unknown and can be a few months or many months.

I am guessing that R82 courses won't be release for a few more weeks, or maybe even before the EOY.

R81.20 has been the last major release and the recommed release for a long time. Some versions are like that, and it could mean that the exams have longer lives too.

R82 adoption rate may even play a part.

I agree with everything @Don_Paterson said. From my experience, I would not worry about it at all untill R82 is a recommended version and that may take some time, for sure.

Best,

Andy
