domain object and updatable object behavior

Are the domains listed in updatable objects only resolved via passive DNS learning? Or does using these objects trigger a lot of reverse lookups the way a domain object in non-FQDN mode does?

Is there a way to force a non-FQDN mode domain object to rely only on passive DNS learning so it doesn't generate a ton of reverse lookups?

Fairly certain we don't do reverse lookups for things in Updatable Objects.
Non-FDQN domain objects, however, will do reverse lookups...it's been the case since the early days of the product.
Don't believe this can be disabled, unfortunately.
