Hi Team,
I have 2 SG 5600 Firewall's with below line card type in expansion slot. But when I execute 'show interfaces' command I only see 3 10G interfaces. eth1-04 is missing. how to troubleshoot this ?
Number of line cards: 1
Line Card 1 type: 4 ports 10gbe SFP+ Rev 1.0
show interfaces output:
Mgmt
Sync
eth1
eth1-01
eth1-02
eth1-03
eth2
eth3
eth4
eth5
eth6
eth7
eth8
lo
@Jerry Yes, eth1-04 is missing in all the output commands . How to confirm if it's the "Expansion Card/Harware" Problem ?
how do I find Line Card model type ? Is there a command in cli/expert mode ?
show asset all ? 😄
ethtool eth1-04
ifconfig -a
HDT (Hardware Diagnostic Tool)
Reboot didn't help, right ?
ethtool won't help as it shows link states etc.
question was about hardware issues hence assets all/network for line cards
cp> show asset network
Number of line cards: 1
Sorry for the late reply.
Issue is resolved now.
An Unsupported/incorrect SFP was inserted into one of the interface ( Eth1-02). I found the error message ( as Unsupported ) when I executed dmesg command ( weird thing it was referring to Eth1-01 interface MAC address and saying unsupported SFP was inserted into it).
Once a supported version ( Finisar) SFP was inserted into it and the gateway was rebooted all 10G interfaces were visible.
But I'm still unable to find the Line card Model type.
I executed 'show asset all' it only shows the line card type but not the model. Is there any way I can find the Line Card Model type other than by 'show asset all' ?
FYI: These SG 5600 Boxes are not bran new. We are using a used Inventory from our Data Center and I had to Factory reset them using the "Reset' button on the Front Panel.
