EVE-NG lab iso questions

Morning everyone and Happy Christmas Eve to all those who celebrate!

Building out my first EVE-NG Check Point lab.

Total NOOB here.

Which version of R81.20 should I download?  All the versions of R81.20 I'm seeing so far are for appliances...

Thank you!

Hey Joe,

Should not matter, because it works for fw / mgmt server. Just make sure to follow below naming.

No problem! But, MAKE SURE naming matches EXACTLY and I mean that : - ). Upper cases, lower case letters, everything, because if you miss one, it probably wont work.

Ping me after holidays if you need help.

Hey brother,

Another helpful link and I also attached some examples from our eve-ng lab for 3 vendors (CP, Fortinet and PAN)

Hope it helps.

Thanks Andy!  How much RAM do you give your EVE-NG server for a Check Point lab?  My laptop has 32GB.

Here is the thing my friend...so for us, since we support all major vendors and we love to do lab testing before we tell customers to do anything major (plus, needless to say, its the RIGHT thing to do anyway), our dedicated eve-ng server runs on 256 GB of ram. Now, for you, if you will ONLY do Check Point, I would say 32 or 64 should be good enough.

Anywho, @Joe_Kanaszka , ping me directly Friday, will be free to assist if you get stuck, but as I mentioned this morning, just make sure to follow the naming correctly. Now, having said that, what matters is first part, 2nd not so much, so ie, does not matter if you call the image cpsg-R9999.99 (as long as its R81.20 for example), but it will NOT work if it reads cpsh-R81.20

Makes sense?

Something else I "grabbed" from our lab, this should also give you an idea.

chag Sameach / Merry Christmas,

Just a question regarding the Checkpoint lab, i find the EVE-NG is very cumbersome and resource heavy.

i am building the lab with GNS3 .

question: is it better to run the lab on EVE-NG (CE) or GNS3 or just straight on Workstation pro 17?
