VPN DNS NAME RESOLUTION

Hello everyone,
My VPN users can't resolve the names of our servers in our LAN. The IP addresses are perfectly reachable. We have a Quantum Spark 1600. We use Checkpoint remote access Client and VPN through Harmony Endpoint Security as our VPN client.

It works after adding my local DNS in the VPN settings. Thanks a lot!

A couple questions:

  • What flavor of the VPN client was installed? For connecting to a locally managed 1600, the correct flavor to install is Check Point Mobile.
  • Have you configured the DNS servers VPN clients should use in VPN > Remote Access > Advanced? If you've installed the VPN client as SecuRemote, these DNS servers will not be used.

Hello,

  • the vpn client version used is E86.80 Check Point Remote Access VPN Clients for Windows
  • I had not configured my local DNS in the vpn settings of my appliance. I have just done so.

Locally or centrally managed? If local, then setting Phoneboy mentioned would work, if central, its under gateway properties, vpn, remote access, optional and you would see dns settings there.
