Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
Hello,
I have an issue with my quantum spark appliance.
Model: 1530
Firmware:R81.10.08 (996001683)
I receive the above error when I try to browse any website. Google.com works fine, even searches within google work fine, but when I link on the searched link or open any other website, it will fail with the error on subject.
Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
I have attached screen grabs for reference. Even the Blade updates fail at times.
Now this is the weird thing, the moment I reboot, everything will work fine ! Only to eventually end up here again.
Appreciate any directions here.
Thank you,
Srini

Hi All,
update on the issue:
=======================
The firmware upgrade did not fix the issue and I was still getting the same connection Reset Error.
Further investigation via an SR revealed issues with URL Filtering blade.
For some odd reason the blade wasn't updating. When I turned off the blade, everything worked fine. Support recommended firmware update R81.10.10 (996002885) which resolved the issue and the blades were able to update.
Thank you so much for your time on this.
Cheers,
Srini

I would suggest to update to R81.10.10 first and look if the issue remains! Same issue had happened with older firmware versions and were resolved by upgrade: https://community.checkpoint.com/t5/SMB-Gateways-Spark/750W-giving-quot-Inernal-Error-quot-when-tryi...

Maybe run a doctor spark health check maybe we get some more information here:

Hi Lesley and Albert,
Thanks for the advice and the links.
I have now upgraded to a the R81.10.10 firmware. Will see if that improves the situation.
The new interface looks refreshing and a positive change.
Earlier I did run "check for new firmware" and it did not prompt me for R81.10.10 at all. Is it because its still not a recommended version yet ?
Another quick one, why does the updates for Threat prevention blades keep stating update available, even if I click on update now?
Thank you!

The check only shows the recommended firmware not the latest:
Latest Firmware R81.10.10 Build 996002845
Recommended FirmwareR81.10.08 Build 996001683
I would give the firewall a day to recover from this update and check tomorrow the Threat prevention blade update

This check nearly never works - out of past experience, it will rather show an update to the installed R81.10.x version (new build) but not upgrades including new features. On top of that, the process is stagging, so it may depend on region or else at which time it shows...

Interesting to know. I do agree I have never had it consistent across two different gateways I have. Btw I do have another gateway with the reported version but never had any issues. one consistently had some or other flags while the other was never bothered with.
Anyways, I will keep an eye on the newer version and see how it behaves.
Thanks again.

I see that error in the browser when an HTTPS connection that is not intercepted is blocked. We can't redirect to usercheck if HTTPS inspection is not configured to inspect the connection.
