"The response is not a manifest file" when adding HealthCheck Point SmartConsole extension

Hi CheckMates,

I've got an R81.10 environment patched to the latest Jumbo and running the latest version of the HCP (take 58).

Followed the steps in sk171436 but when I try to add the SmartConsole extension it fails with "The response is not a manifest file".  Opening the same URL in my browser from the same machine however displays the json file just fine.

Just to re-iterate - I have run both "# service hcp_ext start" and "# hcp --ext-update-reports all" to activate the extension on the SMS.

Would be grateful for any ideas or tips to get this going.  I activate HCP on all my sites and this is actually the 1st time that I'm experiencing issues.

Thanks!

Hi Val,

The browser displays a human-readable json file - I can sanitize and post it here if you think it'd help?

No need, I just wanted to know if there is anything wrong with the file.

I have alerted a relevant team internally, but the office is now on holiday because of Rosh haShana. Probably the fastest way to resolve this is to open a TAC request.

Hi again,

Here is a quote from sk166932:

  1. Symptom: "The response is not a manifest file" error

    Possible causes:
    • Manifest file content has invalid json object.
    • Sometimes copying and pasting can change characters and break the format.
    • Wrong content-type (application/json) on file upload

    Solution:
    1. Fix the json to be in valid format
    2. Upload the file with content type = application/json

Please double check the file, and if no errors there, go to TAC.
