Migrate Export getting too big R80.20

Hi CheckMates,

Using R80.20 here with JHF 156. I have the old habbit to before a big change do a migrate export before. I noticed it getting bigger and bigger. It doubled size from march ( it was around 500 to 1G).

Inside the migrate export I can see a file which is taking a 75% of space. There is a "ren_db.gz" ( which is already compacted so it does not get smaller inside the .tgz migrate export file). Migrate export file size is 987 mb, "ren_db.gz" is 754MB ( is on the root directory of the tgz).

About the "ren_db.gz" file:

Is it supposed to be on the migrate export?

Is this size normal?

What is it used for ?

Does anyone noticed this besides me ?

Many thanks,

From what I can tell, yes, it's an export of the postgres SQL database.

Thanks for your reply PhoneBoy.

Just to be sure, is it 750 MB for this postgres SQL database normal ? It is growing so fast, our backup solution will be impacted if next 6 months if gets more than 2 G.

Depends on the size of your environment, number of changes made, etc.
The newer domain migration tools use a different process to take a backup and the result is...smaller.
Might be worth a TAC case to help troubleshoot precisely why it's so big.
