Authentication error (SNMP error #16) on PRTG monitor for VSX gateway
Hi All,
we are configuring SNMP on checkpoint VSX gateway for partcular VS. we are using v3 and vs mode. when doing configuration on both sides we are getting error - Authentication error (SNMP error #16) on PRTG monitor.
Anyone faced this error. Configuration parameters are correct on firewall and on PRTG monitor as well.
When i run snmpwalk for vs for CPU usage it shows me current cpu usage for that VS.
PFB configuration on VSX gateway:
set snmp agent on
set snmp agent-version v3-Only
add snmp interface Mgmt
add snmp traps receiver x.x.x.x version v3
add snmp usm user abcd security-level authPriv auth-pass-phrase-hashed 5553tfge76r6yhfh5666 privacy-pass-phrase-hashed 6546ryhyt5e654ter4555yy5 privacy-protocol DES authentication-protocol MD5
set snmp usm user abcd vsid 7
Thanks

Hi Jerry,
we are using DES for privacy-protocol for all checkpoint appliances. Can you suggest why this is not a good idea?
Thanks
