Harmony Endpoint 88.61 (once again an issue)

Adding to the forever long list of weird issues im seeing with the harmony endpoint

Has anybody in here had any issues installing software with this harmony endpoint version?

We have a client who had to upgreade to 88.61(ofcourse to resolve other issues)

that are not able to upgrade their current installation of the software HCL NOTES. They can neither upgrade or do a fresh install
Disabling all blades doesnt help. The only solution seems to be uninstalling Harmony endpoint. Which feels stupid.. and i cant run around and uninstalling harmony from 100 laptops and re installing.

already got a TAC case open. been running for a little over a week with no progress at all, and the case owner was suddenly sick with nobody to take over.

am i the only one seeing random and often different issue with this product suite. It seems like we cant hit even 1 stable version where all features in the Harmony endpoint suite just "works"

i feel like the product is somewhat half baked more than often.
today i managed (and i can reproduce) a new bug with the harmony endpoint product. and they just keep coming and im exhausted with speaking to the TAC and either staying on zoom call's for hours or having to e-mail back and forth with tac all the time.

What do all other do when handling TAC?

is there no way to actually get a TAC session where the person handling is actually is able to help instead of asking for 1000m logs and then go slow & Steady with no actual progress unless you request for escalation?

Don't think for a second that I disagree with you; the current experience is issue after issue and the supposed saviour E88.70 is being perpetually delayed.

Buuut! With HCL Notes specifically it may not be Check Point that's the issue (for once!).

During installation HCL notes seems to want to find an "os.dll" file, which it just so happens to find by looking at the system $PATH variable which among other things; contains the Endpoint Security installation directory.

Naturally the os.dll file in there isn't one you'd want to tamper with and this seems to cause the installation to fail (it ends up rolling back right at the end).

What you can do to test this is get a test machine & remove the Check Point dir. from the env. variables $PATH variable. If the installation passes with this removed you've got your match. And unfortunately this is something that HCL needs to work out on their own rather than it being a CHKP issue.

Hi. i agree with the HCL part. my biggest issue with this specific case actually revolves around the fact that i know TAC is alive and present but i really dont feel like they are. which is a huge concern for me. especially since our business keeps growing very fast, so ofcourse the amount of issue arising will increase. But i will like when using Harmony it will increase even further.

when you say remove the check point dir from env variables do you mean the one you find in system?
this one perhaps?
i tried removing that one yesterday & started the HCL installation, which did not help. Though there might be other's things i need to do also which i havent done. I just dont know which ones. Ive also tried disabling blades and re-enabling them to see if it helps. it doesnt. So im having a hard time tracking down how to actually "fix this"

Deep down, I hope whenever either E88.71 or E89 come out, all those issues will be solved...fingers crossed.

This is the one for HCL notes: 6-0004176649
yesterday they asked me for some data which i already uplloaded. but i think the TAC person focus was to look at the SFTP and now what's attached to the actualt support case.
none the less we have 0 progress from when we left off and to where we are now.

I see now that there's already a task open with R&D on this.

Just to be clear, you're talking about this app: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HCL_Notes
I remember hearing a lot about Lotus Notes back in the day (which predates Check Point by a few years), but never used it.
