Official Information on Supported Kernel Versions for Linux – Harmony Endpoint

Hello,

We are facing difficulties deploying Harmony Endpoint on clients using Linux servers. During the process, we identified that some Kernel versions do not have the kernel-devel packages available, preventing the agent from being installed.

We have searched for this information in public documentation but could not find an official Check Point list specifying the exact supported Kernel versions for the approved Linux systems.

Currently, two clients, require this confirmation to proceed with the deployment activities. Could you please provide official documentation or concrete information on which Kernel versions are compatible with each approved distribution (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, SUSE, etc.)?

Below is an error encountered during the installation:

"Unable to find a match: kernel-devel-4.18.0-305.17.1.el8_4.x86_64 Unable to find kernel development files for the current kernel version 4.18.0-305.17.1.el8_4.x86_64 This usually means that your system is not up-to-date or you installed a custom kernel version. Please install up-to-date kernel or reboot system to load different installed one. The install operation failed! (Mon Jan 20 15:27:25 -03 2025) Another installation attempt was scheduled."

If there is already a technical document available on this, could you please share it?

Looking forward to your response. Thank you!

@jorgeluiznim

These are kernel packages for each distribution. You must use a managed package, for example Dnf  or rpm in fedora to install this package for the kernel

fedora/rhel

sudo dnf install kernel-devel-4.18.0-305.17.1.el8_4.x86_64
