CheckMates Go:
Maestro Madness
I tried - unsuccessfully to install GAIA and Smart Console using the instructions provided by Valeri_Loukine and ran into problems. The installation seemed to work fine, but when I tried to run and GAIA, I kept getting a "403 Error" I tried using both VMware Workstation 15 and VirtualBox, but was unable to connect.
Would appreciate any assistance.
My setup:
Microsoft Surface Book 2
16GRAM
500G HD
Running on wireless access. Have a FingBox installed in network.
Tried different browsers - Edge, Chrome, IE, FireFox
I'm thinking that the IP addressing suggestions are what is screwing me up..
Thanks!
Hi @JeffS
Check this:
1) Connect via local VMWare connsole.
2) Login as 'admin'
3) Now set expert password 'set password <your expert pw>'
4) Login as expert user 'expert'
5) Disable firewall policy 'fw unloadlocal'
6) Check die IP address 'ifconfig'
7) Now ping your firewall from your notebook
If the ping works, it's a firewall problem. If the ping does not work it is a VMWare problem.
If you have a firewall issue check port 443:
# netstat -an | grep 443
and the HTTP prozess:
# ps - auf |grep httpd
If both points are ok > check browser proxy settings and clear the browser cache.
Hi @JeffS
Sorry, I didn't read right that you were already logged in.
Please try to call the following link manually after login for the GUI portal.
https:///cgi-bin/home.tcl
or running the First Time Configuration Wizard again:
If for some reason the user needs to run the First Time Configuration Wizard again, then perform the following steps:
Important Note: If this machine was configured as Security Gateway, then it is not recommended to reconfigure it as StandAlone because after performing the below activity and configuring it as a Standalone you will see Security Management Server status as "Attention" in SmartView Monitor.
# expert
# rm -i /etc/.wizard_accepted# rm -i /etc/.wizard_started
# reboot
You should have the following minimum requirements on VM:
- Gateway 4 GB RAM, minumum 1 core beter 2 cores
- Management 8 GB RAM, minimum 2 cores
Hi Jeff,
Could you also clear your brower's cookies and cache if you haven't done so already and try again?
Cleared both.. didn't make a difference.
What resources have you assigned to the Check Point VM Jeff? Also, is it a standalone deployment whereby it's both a manager and a gateway? Moreover, what sort of interface has it been assigned (bridged, host-only etc.)?
In addition to my previous post, have you been trying to log into Gaia with http or https?
