I tried to use this extension in my lab (R82.10) and could not approve the required api permissions. When clicking "approve all" nothing happens.
When using it without approved permissions the SmartConsole crashed (but ok, that doesn't surprise me).

;Hi @Danny . The "pre-approved commands" require the commands in their 'full-hyphen' names, i.e. "set-host" and "set-network-range" and not "set host" and "set network-range", etc.
@Norbert_Bohusch - I wasn't able to reproduce the crash. Can you please share the exact SmartConsole build you're using and the steps to reproduce the crash?

;Thanks for the quick reply @Omer_Ran, I updated the json manifest file accordingly.
@Norbert_Bohusch: Could you please try again?

SmartConsole build is 82.10.9900.408.
The steps are:
1. Add extension (btw. approving privileges which is now possible makes no difference)
2. Open "ReName" pane
3. Click in the filter field of the "ReName" pane
You see also the extension showing an error next to the refresh button.

@Omer_Ran: I troubleshooted this with @Norbert_Bohusch and we discovered that his SmartConsole installation fails to establish a read-only session and crashes when a run-readonly-command is triggered. As a workaround I implemented a button to allow manual switching between Auto / Commit mode.

Looks good Danny! I think this could be very useful in large organizations with lots of admins who use different naming conventions throughout the years.
Danny:
Congrats on the release!
Anyone who's managed a large Check Point environment knows how painful object naming inconsistencies can get, especially after a merger or a migration project. This fills a real gap.
Quick technical question: does ReNamer handle dependency validation before renaming?
Meaning, if an object is referenced in an active policy rule or a VPN community, does it flag it or block the rename to prevent rule breakage? That's always been the tricky part when doing bulk operations in SmartConsole.
Looking forward to testing it.

@CrisJohnson : Yes, ReName performs dependency validation before renaming.
Object names that contain reserved words or characters ( sk40179 ) and objects that are in use by a gateway ( sk126872 ) will cause an error message and won't be renamed. Objects used in an active security policy (rule base) or object group can be renamed without any known issue. This community is currently discussing if white spaces are supported in object names or not. Depending on this outcome, I'll implement an option to exclude white spaces from the dependency validation.
