gw 4600 The physical port LED status light is abnormal?

Hi,

     Dear all.

I helped the customer to upgrade (From R77 .20 to R80.30)the GW 4600 and smart-1-405. I found that when all the cables were unplugged from the gateway, I found that the led status light of the Master GW's port 2 was abnormal, and the upper left was always on. Does anyone know the general possible reason?

It's not online yet, it still keeps on after restarting...

 thanks a lot!!!

On a network card? Not sure.
Best to connect to the appliance via the console port and look at the messages.

Thanks for your reply, and  View via control, no abnormal logs.  Let me open a case and confirm with tac.

On each NIC port, one LED indicates link integrity and activity so it should go dark when unplugged, and the other one indicates selected link speed (10/100/1000Mbps).  Is it possible that port is hardcoded to 100Mbps instead of being set to auto?

I confirmed the configuration, the auto-negotiation of the port is ON, and it adapts to 1000M. But I can ping via the test pc directly

Did you try to off the port using CLI ?

In clish:"set interface eth2 state off"

in bash: "ifconfig eth2 down"

What is the output of "ifconfig eth2" ? What ethtool eth2 says ?

Isnt eth2 marked as management or Sync interface ?

Kind regards,
Jozko Mrkvicka

Thanks for your reply,  I tried it. After closing the port directly, the status light is still on. This port is not the synchronization port and the management port. I have opened the case. Waiting for tac's reply. Thanks a lot!😀

You mentioned that rebooting didnt help. What about power off appliance, remove all power cords, wait 10 minutes and power it on again ?

Did you also try to perform Hardware Diagnostic ?

Kind regards,
