VSX Gateway Snapshot

Whenever we talk about VSX gateways, snapshots of managemnet(SMS) is usually recommended as all the configuration can be pushed using SMS.

Do we also need to take snapshots for the VSX GW ? If so do we need to create snapshot of each individual Virtual System or only the main one vsenv 0 ?

Snapshot is gateway wide, not for individual Virtual systems.

Typically the only thing you need specific to the VS is any Dynamic routing / DHCP / proxy ARP configuration.

The only difference between a snapshot and a backup is that a backup only captures config files while a snapshot also saves binaries. for VSX GWs, both will cover all VSs and the physical gateway.

You cannot do a backup/snapshot of a single VS, if that was your question.

Thank You Chris for the reply.

So, for individual VS all we need to take backup is ' show configuration' as you say.

How about System Backup ? System backup is also taken only for the gateway ?
