Upgrading from standalone 2200 to a cluster 3600

Hi Checkmates,

I need to upgrade a standalone 2200 running in R80.20 to a cluster 3600 in R81.10. The steps involved are

1. Upgrade the two 3600 appliances which are already in R80.40 to a cluster with R81.10. In this step , i need advice whether to  configure each appliance as a Security Management Server and as a Security Gateway  or create a separate management server.

2. Move the policies + objects and other configuration from standalone 2200 to the new cluster 3600 which i think is the most challenging part.  Any advices / best practices are very welcome .

Thanks in advance

Firoz

Separate management is optimal.

sk154033 talks to the process of migrating from standalone to distributed, please note the version caveats.

I would suggest to re-create objects and policy on a new management server. Full management HA is not a suggested deployment in most cases. SMS in a VM is a popular solution.
