CPinfo for Virtual System

TAC sometimes asks for CPinfo for certain Virtual Systems, though the CPinfo since R80 do not support any -vs flags. When asking for guidance I usually get a non answer, so we end up using vsenv <vsid> and run cpinfo again.

Is this the correct way of doing it? Why so cumbersome?

We often have to send cpinfo files for multiple virtual systems, having one command collecting data for all of these will reduce both time and file size significantly.

I would use the CP page Request for Enhancement: http://www.checkpoint.com/rfe/rfe.htm

I think that form is going to /dev/null. I have never received any feedback or questions to suggestions posted there.

If you post an RFE, you will get a reference number that you should forward to your local CP SE ! He then can update you about the chances that it will get realized. It depends on the number of people requesting it, level of difficulty in programming a.o.m.

So i would rather suggest to write a simple script for CLI that can do what you want...
