i could not reset my chekpoint PB-20.00.17
what is the motherboard bios password
This question was asked on an unrelated thread and a new one was created.
We do not provide the BIOS password for Check Point appliances for any reason.
Check Point appliances are only meant to run operating systems released by Check Point, for which the BIOS is already optimally configured.
what is PB-20.00.17???
5200 with BIOS 1.7
I need to get into the BIOS to boot from ISO / cd . IOW, it's not queuing up my ISO file. It's not being recognized. This is for a 9300. I guess I need to RMA it? I'm in the LOM but it won't boot the iso file.
9300 has UEFI , you must use UEFI bootable device (it won't boot from non UEFI) , are you positive you are using the UEFI options(meaning that if you burn the iso in isomorphic you must select uefi)

if you are not using isomorphic , what method are you using(CD? virtual CD? Zalman) and which version ?
updating the firmware to 7.12.1 fixed it and I got the option to boot from UEFI again!
There's also an option to connect to an image server, So, no RMA needed. Thanks.
HI Dolve,
I was with customer and trying to reimage the 9200 appliance with USB on boot asking password, did try default admin as the appliance just out of the box.
than try configrue as normal set the grub password and tried that again same issue keep asking password and after 2-3 wrong attempt firewall reboot.
at the end have to configure firewall and use CPUSE to download and install.
this seems its asking BIOS password, and if the firewall optimise for OS why than its asking a password????
here is the image link I was using on the 9200 Quantum Force
Hi,
Please send me offline the TAC SR number, I'll reach to the teams to look into that and clarify any gaps.
Regards,
Dolev
The system should not be asking for a BIOS password unless you explicitly try to enter BIOS mode.
A screenshot of the actual boot messages might help, but I'd also open a TAC case if you haven't already.
I guess the issue was the ISO was burned using BIOS not UEFI, will try that and let you know, thanks for replying
That would definitely explain it...
