15xxx appliance [GAIA]: Bond with SYNC interface and module interface?
Hi board,
Does anyone knows if following scenario is an option? (Unfortunately, I cannot test in advance)
On a 15xxx appliance, creating a bond interface with 2 interfaces, the physical SYNC interface and another interface located on one of the modules?
Both bond members are 1Gbps/copper.
Is there something special with the SYNC interface which should thwart the bond creation?
Many thanks!

Maybe put the question in SMB appliances and SMP ? As this is no GAiA appliance it would make more sense...
And there is something in the way:
sk114217: Bond / Link aggregated interfaces on SMB appliances
We can also find it here, for 1500 :
sk159772: Check Point R80.20 for 1500 Appliances Features and Known Limitations
So, sorry, no way...

I have been told by TAC that bonding to SYNC isn't supported.
You can run bonded interfaces with SYNC. You just can't bond the SYNC port.

Right. From my experience the SYNC interface behaves just like any other physical interface in GAIA. That is just how GAIA labels the interface. So, you do not have to use that Interface for SYNC traffic. You could use it for any traffic you wanted. If you are using it in this manner, I believe you should be able to use it as a bonded Interface.
To @Tommy_Forrest's point, bonding the interface that carries the SYNC traffic is not supported; regardless of what physical Interface you do it on.
