Restart SMB WebUI process (HTTPD)

Hello everyone,

Is there a way to restart httpd process on SMB appliances?

I am looking for something equivalent to tellpm process:httpd2; tellpm process:httpd2

Curious, why do you need to restart httpd?

Every few weeks Captive Portal and UserCheck redirection will start to fail. Computers I will be able to reach captive portal using its URL, but in mobile devices not even that solves. This is rare, but it is a pain.

I can only fix it by rebooting, so I was thinking that maybe restarting the service might help.

I tried sfwd_restart, and stop, start. Doesn't help.

These are part of multiportal.

You should be able to restart the UserCheck portal by using the expert command mpclient restart UserCheck

Try fw_configload instead! Here, the policy gets recompiled.

Have you tried:

expert# webd_init.sh restart

I always use this when I have trouble with WEB UI, but I'm not sure if this really toggles the original thttpd process.

Thank you, Tom.

This time it was actually an issue with the certificates. I had to restart all certificates.

I'll test your command next time a portal is misbehaving.
