R80.20.10 Build 992001491 crippled my 1550

R80.20.10 Build 992001491 crippled my appliance 😞 All LAN or WLAN connections are dropped because of a hotspot (not enabled) resetting the connection and logs show Hotspot authentication via browser is required for this connection. After installing R80.20.10 Build 992001434 again, issue was not resolved and i had to switch back to some legacy hardware !

I have had a similar issue during beta testing of R80.20.10, but then only WLAN was not working. My config is a bridge with LAN ports and authenticated WLAN port. Finally, Build 992001434 did work as expected on my 1550 and it went back into production.

I hope for a firmware with this issue fixed...

The issue has been resolved - in a very simple way:

UA.png

I just deselected Browser-Based Authentication and all worked again ! I remember that i had a look into UA config sometime, but seems i did not disable Browser-Based Authentication before switching off UA blade. This would instantly block internet access from behind the 1550, but i was far away and connected to the box from outside using internet. Same situation when updating the firmware - and i just noticed the issue after beeing home again, behind the 1150...

According to Dafna Mozel: The hotspot is disabled but the “Browser-Based Authentication” is on (Browser-Based Authentication uses a web interface to authenticate users before they can access network resources or the Internet.) Browser-Based Authentication should not be ON if user-awareness is OFF.

Will be fixed in the next firmware version.

Sorry to hear this but thanks for the feedback. Please also ensure that you have made the TAC aware by raising an SR?

This is a first batch box provided by CP for beta testing which has no support any longer. To transfer it to a place where CP can look into it is complicated, it is much easier to test with new firmware if the issue persists...

Hi

First, as a beta tester, you can send me the MAC address and we will renew license and support.

secondly, to investigate the issue, can you please send me a backup file of the configuration, and GW credentials ?

thanks

I know R80.20.15 is close as I'm using a release candidate of it.

Yep - i tried fw1_vx_dep_R80_992001647_20 but did not help. Meanwhile i think about trashing all configuration after saving the defined network objects with their MACs...
