Quantum Spark Zero Touch Deployment

I have 6 Spark 1500 series devices to deploy to remote sites and have been looking at the zero touch deployment options. These gateways are all going to be managed by a central management server, and the basic config with zero touch seems fairly straight forward, however I don't see a way that I can test the process to ensure it works before I send them out. (I was hoping to use one as a test unit first to verify the process, then factory reset it, but I only have a DSL router to connect it to so I don't think this would work)

The other thing is that I see no simple way to configure the interfaces (different network segments, DHCP etc) other than by creating clish scripts for each site. Is this the way to do it or am I missing something?

Maybe it would be quicker to either use basic zero touch then connect to them remotely and configure the interfaces, or to preconfigure them before sending (they are all going to be configured differently with different network segments etc, and there is a mix of 1535 and 1555 devices)

Another approach which may be good for my situation could be to boot the devices with a USB drive containing an autoconf.clish config file.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated!

For that small number of devices, it might be easier to just preconfigure them or use Zerotouch to do very basic configuration, as you suggested.

Go ahead with Zerotouch. You can write clish scripts for the interface configuration and define your management connection. Scripts can be placed in zerotouch portal and update with newest firmware will be possible. The 15xx are doing zerotouch from zerotouch portal automatically, DHCP-client is on on the WAN interface per default and if they can connect to zerotouch portal and they are configured there, they get their configuration.

Testing is mandatory if you are not familiar with the zerotouch process.

Using an USB stick will be an option, You can use the same scripts on the stick and you can do a firmware update via the stick, but you have to touch every box or you send the stick with the appliances to the locations.

You can preconfigure all appliances via zerotouch and after confirming the right configuration send them to the remote location, but you have to deal with your configuration of the external interface.
