No CLI firmware update from cloud

In my old post SMB firmware from CLI  i list the commands from sk141512: Checking for a firmware upgrade fails on Small and Medium Business Appliances running R77....:

# /opt/fw1/bin/fw check_available_firmware
# /opt/fw1/bin/fw download_firmware
# /pfrm2.0/bin/cloud_upgrade.sh

According to sk141512, these commands are only supported in R77.20.xx - but i can call still them in R81.10.00 without an explicit error message:

[Expert@fifteenfifty]# /opt/fw1/bin/fw check_available_firmware
[Expert@fifteenfifty]# /opt/fw1/bin/fw download_firmware
Could not download the new firmware.
[Expert@fifteenfifty]# /pfrm2.0/bin/cloud_upgrade.sh
ls: /storage/firmware//*.img: No such file or directory

So my question is:

- why are these commands only working in R77.20.xx firmware ?

- why are these commands still available in R81.10.00 although they do not work anymore ?

- how to install firmware per CLI online in R81.10.00 ?

Any answer available ? This was the only way to install a firmware online using CLI...

The SK kind of already has a footnote with relevant caveats to this effect.

Just because something is documented for a specific scenario doesn't make it endorsed for general day to day use on all versions.

I know, see first question ! But i get no "unknown command" as should be, and the only alternative is to download it manually.

I tested this and it is working for upgrades when there is an available firmware advertised. The firmware downloaded and installed in my test was R81_996001457_10_07

I see, so it is subject to stagging, following WebGUI behaviour.
