Gaia Embedded Firmware Upgrade
Dear all,
A customer of ours, owns a 1400 SMB appliance.
Using the WebUI to check for firmware upgrades, it shows that the latest firmware is up-to-date and will not fetch newer firmware upgrades.
Current firmware: R77.20.81 (990172541).
Latest firmware for 1400 appliances (according to SK97766😞 R77.20.87 (990173004).
My question is: Why does the appliance does not recognize that a new firmware is available?
Thanking you in advance.

It works like that - it will show that an update is available when the next firmware build had been put into stagging, but this only wotks for the same base firmware version. I would rather suggest to install the current Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for R77.20.87...

First things to check:
1. Internet connectivity
2. Cloud Services enabled
3. License and contract are in place.
Is it central or locally managed?

New firmware versions have a couple of attributes:
- Bugs of previous builds have been fixed
- new features are available
and - as experience told us many times -
- new bug(s) appear
When i know that an update is ready, i will first read which bugs have been fixed (one of mine ? one i think is important and may occur to me in the future?) and about the new features (do i need anything there real badly?), then wait for experiences on CheckMates 8). Always better to wait a bit longer...
The automatic firmware update is able to cut you off from internet completely ( this once did happen with Safe@/Edges ), so for security reasons, i would not use it.
