1570R Ruggedized Security Gateway GA!

Hi All,

We are happy to announce the release of the new 1570R Ruggedized security gateway.

The rugged form factor enables the 1570R to operate in a temperature range of -40C to +75C, making it ideal for deployment in harsh environments, securing any industrial application - power and manufacturing plants, oil and gas facilities, maritime fleets, building management systems, and more. The 1570R is certified for the industrial specifications IEEE 1613 and IEC 61850-3 for heat, vibration, and immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI). In addition, the 1570R will be certified for Maritime operation per IEC-60945 and IACS E10 and complies with DNV-GL-CG-0339 (Certification process is on-going).

The 1570R gateway is powered by Check Point’s R80 release. R80 is the industry’s most advanced security management software, and includes multi-layered next-generation protection from both known threats and zero-day attacks using the award-winning SandBlast™ Zero-Day Protection, plus antivirus, anti-bot, IPS, app control, URL filtering and identity awareness.

The 1570R gateway can be managed locally, centrally and via SMP cloud service.

Main highlights:

  • Fanless, Aluminum-based design
  • Wired and WiFi + LTE flavors
  • 8x1GbE LAN, 1x1GbE / SFP WAN ports, 1x1GbE / SFP DMZ ports
  • NGTX performance - 400Mbps (CPEnt)
  • Embedded CAT6 3/4G/LTE cellular modem
    • Worldwide LTE coverage with just two product variants: one for North America and EMEA, and one for Asia-Pacific
    • Two external antennas (Main and Diversity) to allow the best RF signal and coverage
    • Dual SIM (Nano and Micro) functionality is supported to enable automatic fail over between SIMs
  • Embedded 3x3 WiFi modem, Dual band non-concurrent 802.11n/ac
  • Serial port (DB9 female connector), supports serial protocols RS232, RS422, R485 (SW-configurable) for end point PLC control
  • Two power sources
    • Power adapter (12V, 40W Commercial grade and 120W Industrial -40 to 70 degree C grade)
      • Those power adapters are sold separately and not part of the 1570R box
    • 3-Pin terminal block, 12V-72VDC and -48VDC, supplied by the customer’s power infrastructure

The V1R supports 3 WiFi antennas (on the rear panel), 2 antennas for 3/4G/LTE on the front and another one for GPS. See below a photo with the GPS antenna.

It will sale separately (as a FRU).

The HW supports it and certified, still our SW and UI doesn't yet.

I've been trying to get one of these since last December to test.

why do 3/4 photos have a GPS connector, but the 4th doesn't?

What does the GPS connector do?

I think the GPS connector is for a GPS antennae which can be used for Stratum 1 NTP sync.

Read in the cited sk:

Check Point's 1570R Security Gateway is available in Wired, and WiFi+LTE flavors.

So the one without antennas must be the wired version 😎

I suspect GPS connector is to provide ability for appliance to sync time from satellite source.

Is there an option available for "top hat rail mounting", like the older industrial edge device ?

Does the box include wall mount or does it needs to be ordered as a separate line item?

What we have is only the sk166654 and the Data Sheet - but neither Release Notes nor any other documentation. There are only references to old documentation.
