How to Migrate/Export VPN user objects from R77.30 to R80.30

Dear Team,

We've a requirement to migrate VPN users from R77.30 to R80.30. Is there any tools or methods to migrate only the VPN users?

We've heard that it can be possible using GuiDBedit, but how we can achieve it?

Hi @Kiran_Sivaraman 

You have to do a little trick here. You need a LAB management server under vmware.

1) Install migration tools from R80.30 on the R77.30 SMS

2) Export the policy via migrate export

3) Install a LAB SMS with the same IP from the old R77.30 SMS

4) Import the migrate file via migrate import on the LAB SMS

5) Export the user settings with the management API on the LAB SMS

6) Import the user settings via management API on your real SMS

There is probably a way to do it, but it's going to take some work to work out how to do it.
First of all, in R77.x, you can use something like fwm dbexport as described here: https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R77/CP_R77_CLI_ReferenceGuide_WebAdmin/html_frameset.htm?topic=...

How to get that entered into R80.x is the real question.
There aren't official APIs for VPN users in R80.x though you can do it with generic-object calls most likely.
And there's still dbedit, which I think can still be used for VPN users.
