Toyota halts all Japan assembly plants due to glitch

Toyota has halted operations at all its assembly plants in Japan. This marks the second occurrence of such an incident within an 18-month period. In 2022, Toyota confirmed that the previous incident was the result of a cyberattack on one of their parts suppliers, leading to supply chain disruptions that necessitated the suspension of production across all their Japanese facilities.

As for the current incident, details remain unclear, and Toyota has yet to release an official statement regarding it. This one-day disruption has resulted in an output loss of approximately 13,000 cars, leading to significant revenue losses for Toyota.

I think it shows us how fragile these systems are and how complex relations exists between OT and IT environments.
If for one of the largest car manufacturers such events repeat so often, what is the situation with smaller organizations?

Sadly, lots of companies dont think of that much, until they have such an occurrence, but then, its too late.
