Maestro Madness
Hello guys,
Just a small question that came into my mind when I had to install the latest jumbo take on one of my machines. Is it possible to - somehow - "extend" the length of the CLI output of cpuse? What I mean with that is, that the commands "installer show/verify/whatever <tab>" have a locked length regarding their output. Let's for example take a look at the latest jumbo take:
hostnameXYZ> installer verify
** ************************************************************************* **
** Hotfixes **
** ************************************************************************* **
Num Display name Type
1 Check Point CPinfo build 191 for R80.20 Hotfix
2 R80.20 Gaia 3.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for
Security Management General availability ( Hotfix
(...)
** ************************************************************************* **
** Majors **
** ************************************************************************* **
Num Display name Type
9 R80.20.M2 Fresh Install and Upgrade for
Security Management Major Version
10 R80.20 Fresh Install and Upgrade for Security
Management Major Version
11 R80.30 Fresh Install and Upgrade for Security
Management Major Version
Here you can see that package number 2 is clearly cut in the column "display name" as it only shows "R80.20 Gaia 3.10 Jumbo Hotfix Accumulator for Security Management General availability (" - the take itself is not visible at all. If you have more than one package in the list and you can't determine the name by this column you still have the option to use the web ui - however what about systems where this is not possible (e.g. VSX)? Is there any option to "enlarge" this column or to just display more details for the packages?
Thanks in advance and best regards.
Maik
Hm that's what I assumed.
@PhoneBoy Do you know whether something is planned for the future? Should be kinda easy to implement such a change. 🙂
For the meantime - how should someone proceed without being able to access a web ui.
Not easy, but still possible:
GW-R80.20> installer verify
** ************************************************************************* **
** HFAs **
** ************************************************************************* **
Num Display name Type
1 Check_Point_SmartConsole_R80_30_jumbo_HF_B36_W
in HFA
** ************************************************************************* **
Expert@GW-R80.20> clish -c "installer verify 1" >> /var/tmp/my.txt
Now in /var/tmp/my.txt:
Info: Initiating verify of Check_Point_SmartConsole_R80_30_jumbo_HF_B36_Win.tgz...
Interactive mode is enabled. Press CTRL + C to exit (this will not stop the operation)
Validating Install: 0% Validating Install: 0% Validating Install: 0% Validating Install: 0% Validating Install: 0%
Result: Installation is allowed.
At least a feasible workaround - thanks!
This is probably an RFE to fix. @Tsahi_Etziony
already on it @PhoneBoy 😊
Awesome, thank you guys! 😀
