Maestro Madness
Hi,
we got strange issue, cpview command is not working in a history mode, so when we tried cpview -t we got response:
History is initializing
Ordinary cpview is working normally.
[Expert@CP1:0]# cpview -t
CPView: History is initializing
[Expert@CP1:0]# exit
exit
CP1> show version all
Product version Check Point Gaia R80.40
OS build 294
OS kernel version 3.10.0-957.21.3cpx86_64
OS edition 64-bit
Do you have some ideas what could be the reason cpview -t is not working?
Make sure your /var/log partition is not full with df -h as that will halt cpview history logging.
Next try restarting the cpview services like this:
cpview -s off
cpview -s on
If still having the problem, there may be some corruption in the cpview history database file here: $CPDIR/log/cpview_services/*
If you can turn cpview services off, back up all files in this directory, remove them, then restart cpview services.
@Arik_Ovtracht can you assist please?

Thanks @Timothy_Hall after restarting cpview services I got cpview history for the time since restart (not before). Before restarting cpview services I also noticed that my cpview database history file is quite old, and that after restart it got refreshed. Also, I have checked df -h and its fine. Here is my complete command log:
[Expert@CP1:0]# df -h

If I have the same problem but on an SMB, does the same solution apply?
I spun up demo point lab for smb and both commands worked, cpview -s off and on.
Andy
If you want me to check anything else, let me know. Those labs are valid for 4 hours, but takes 2 mins to spin new one up.
Andy
Hi @MladenAntesevic ,
we require more details to help you.
Can you please contact me at ariko@checkpoint.com and we'll take it offline?
Hi @Arik_Ovtracht I sent you an e-mail, now I got it working for the time since restart.
