Local backup issue /var/log is full

Hi i am facking issue while creating local/scheduled backup. 

 

sharing output below for /var/log 

df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/vg_splat-lv_current
35G 17G 17G 50% /
/dev/sda1 289M 128M 146M 47% /boot
tmpfs 1.9G 0 1.9G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/mapper/vg_splat-lv_log
677G 662G 0 100% /var/log

 

can you guide me how to solve this issue

You can simply free disk space by compressing older log files via gzip filename*

That way you don't have to delete them if you don't want. Additionally you might want to check this thread to remove temporary files.

Is this a Gateway or a Management server? What version?

If it is a Management server, do you have a script or anything in place to clean up / age out old log files?

its management server with r77.30 

 

also i tried to cleanup cache but still it is in use. i just waned to confirm that there's 15 GB is showing on /var/log but i am not able to take backup

Take a look in $FWDIR/log and see if you have an excessive amount of log files being stashed away

It's literally a cli command (expert mode) called gzip.
It's a standard Linux utility.
