License purchase and use before appliances arrival

Dear community,

Situation

  • We have signed a contract with a Checkpoint partner
  • Our license will expire on 23/12/2024
  • We have in use some appliances which will be replaced
  • The GAIA appliances will be replaced in 60 days
  • The signed contract says: "inmediate license activation"

Question:

  • The actual appliances are 2 (two) 16000 series and 2 (two) 5000 series
  • The new appliances are 4 (four) 16000 series
  • Is it ok if we receive a Central License to install in our open server SMS and use for 60 days for the old Checkpoints and later with the new ones?
  • How to recognice or how to get evidence that effectivelly is a Central License?

Best regards,

SP

If I were you, I would contact Account services to verify all this.

Forgot to add, I believe option 3 is for Account services. You will hear once automated voice mentions license, thats what you need to select and then just explain the situation. License folks are EXCELLENT (in my opinion). Every time I called, they were super helpful and resolved the situation right over the call.

Hope that helps.

Licenses are specific to the hardware in question, even if centrally managed.
You shouldn't need new licenses for your existing appliances either, since they are already licensed.

What is the concern here?
