Hi,
Which is better exam for me to take as a novice that who knows not much about CP. ??
CCSA 80 or the latest one ? Why??
When do you plan to sit the exam?
How big would be the difference? let's say february-march ?
The R81 CCSA/CCSE exams are currently in development and are only planned for release in February so no feedback is available as yet.
Hi @Chris_Atkinson is there an ETA on the exam? I can only see the R80 CCSA version in Pearson Vue still.
Hi @Jason_Tugwell just following this up to see if there is a rough ETA for the new exam? I'm currently trying to plan with my manager so a rough timeline would be really helpful.
It's available now and there is a promo to celebrate, see here:
I would go with CCSA R80.xx as a novice ! There is so much to lear that is the same for both versions that the question is useless. What CCSA class did you do and do you have a lab deployment ?
The R81.10 CCSA and CCSE exams went live yesterday, be sure to check the Exam # carefully when booking:
Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) R81 – Exam #: 156-215.81
Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) R81 – Exam #: 156-315.81
The R80.40 versions are still available but will presumably be retired in 90 days or so.
Its always better to take latest version exam (thats really for any vendor), but as guys here said, considering you are new to CP, maybe smarter to book R80.
Andy
Your advice is generally correct however due to some significant content changes between CCSA/CCSE R80.X and R81.10, someone who took the older CCSA/CCSE R80.X course or that has not worked with R81+ yet will probably struggle with the R81.10 exams.
Rather than documenting those changes at the bottom of this thread where no one will see it, I'll start a new thread.
