Version of Check Point certification exam

Hello,

Based on which version are all questions taken from the specific Check Point certfication exam ? At this moment, the latest released and recommended version is R81.10. If I will take the exam today for any of supported Infinity Specialist Accreditations (ISA), which version I need to take into consideration to answer correctly ?

There are tons of new features, changes and differencies between versions.

Or all the questions are always updated to be valid and correct for the latest version ? Or the questions which are not clear enough does have mentioned the specific version in the question ?

I did not find this answer within the certification FAQ (sk163417).

Hi @JozkoMrkvicka

All current exams are based on R80.30 or .40 unless the exam title states R81.

Actually, we have ISA some exams listed as - R81.  😊

156-581: Check Point Certified Troubleshooting Administrator - R81 (CCTA)

156-586: Check Point Certified Troubleshooting Expert - R81 (CCTE)

We have others that will follow this pattern.

However, I found that the CCVS is indeed R80.20.  The exams will follow the training course versions.  When courses are released, the exams are created based on that material.

I hope this is helpful to you.

Thanks

Tug

Hi All,

Just to provide some clarity, all exams are aligned with the corresponding course. As of today, all courseware and exams have been updated to R81, with the exception of the following:

CCVS - Scheduled to be updated and released this quarter (Q4 2022)

CCME - Scheduled to be updated and released this quarter (Q4 2022)

CCAS - TBD

Upon release of the updated courses, the associated exam will be developed and released based on the updated content.

Kind Regards,

The last I heard/remember was R80.40, but @Jason_Tugwell can definitely confirm.

Hi Tug,

There is no version mentioned in any of titles for ISA certifications. For example, CCVS - Check Point Certified Virtual System Extension Specialist - 156-550.

For this one, there is even R80.20 mentioned within Training Data sheet. Or the training (course) itself is based on R80.20, but the exam is based on R80.40 ?

R80.30 is EOS already. Not sure if this is good approach to have some questions in the exam to have relation to R80.30. All relevant questions which are still valid for R80.30 should be checked and corrected to be valid for R80.40 or higher.

Yep, it is now clear that I have to study R80.20 VSX admin guide 😉

Would be great to have it written as some note for each and every exam, so the exam candidates can be prepared for the exam.

If I will not ask here, I will most probably study R81.10 (since it is latest approved and recommended version) admin guides. With that in mind, I can easily fail in the exam as there are tons of differencies and new features between R80.20 and R81.10.

Hi Vanessa,

Thank you for clarification.

How and when will be everyone informed that the courses and exams were updated to R81 ?

For example, if I have scheduled CCVS exam in end of November, where I can check if the exam was already updated before I will go to the exam center? It will be fairly unfair if exam candidates are not informed that the exam was updated to be alligned with R81 instead of R80.20.
