Hi everybody
Next week, I will take the above-mentioned exam.
Does anybody know the following:
- Number of questions? (is it still 75 questions..?)
- Passing rate? (is it still 70%..?)
- Duration?
All information that I found so far relates to earlier versions.
Thank you in advance for your help, much appreciated.
KR, Chris 🙂
The specialist exams are the same length and passing score as the core CCSA/CCSE exams. See here for tips:

Thanks a lot Timothy_Hall 😀
Tim gave you the right response. By the way, as I always say to people, read the questions CAREFULLY, cause literally 70-80% of the time, answer is "hiding" in the question itself 😉
Good luck mate!
Pozdrav 🙂
Andy
Hvala Andy! 🙂
Nema na cemu lol. I feel like I only speak the language to my dad at this point haha
Good luck on the exam mate, whether you get 70 or 100%, we all cheer for you to pass 🙂
Andy
Same here! Living in Switzerland, and having relatives spread all over the world, I barely talk the language. I'm following many Croatian and Serbian (sports) podcasts though, which keeps me in shape 🙂
As for the exam, thanks for cheering me up, much appreciated! The preparation was very though, mainly because I have barely worked with CheckPoint solutions within the last two years. My company is more Fortinet-focused. After this certification, I will definitely include and embrace CheckPoint in my daily work... 😉
Switzerland, one of my favorite countries in the world, too nice. I know when it comes to Fortinet, their toughest exam is NSE 8, but I think it involves travelling to California for practical part, which can take 2 days or so, not that easy. I had NSE 7 at some point, but expired during Covid lol
We will be waiting for good news after you write CP exam 😉
Andy
Got it, thanks.
The question was answered by Tim in the reply marked as a Solution.
Tim's exam tips for CCSA and CCSE are worth reading in general.
CCTE R81.20 was released in August 2023 and the exam was released soon afterwards.
The duration, number of questions and pass mark have not changed.
Hey Chris! 👋
Just checking in — how did the 156-587 exam go? Hope it went smoothly!
Could you share a quick summary of your experience, including the difficulty level, the types of questions that arose (more theory vs. hands-on), and whether the format matched expectations (75 questions, 70% pass mark, 90 minutes)?
It would be super helpful for those of us planning to take it soon. Thanks in advance, and congrats on getting through it! 🙌
