Quantum Threat Prevention Alerts via Free SMTP?

Dear Team,

We are conducting a test to verify whether Check Point Quantum R81.20 can send email notifications when a Critical Threat is detected in Threat Prevention using sendmail feature.

Our organization uses Google services and intended to use Gmail as the SMTP server. However, we discovered that Gmail does not support SMTP relay over Port 25. To find a cost-effective solution, we are considering using a free SMTP server.

If anyone has experience with this approach or has successfully configured Gmail for similar use, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,

Please note per sk25941 if you intend to leverage the internal sendmail function:

  • Alert emails do not support SSL/TLS.

  • Alert emails do not support authentication.

  • You must configure the applicable SMTP server with the options "Mail Relay" and "No Authentication".
