unable to activate license with new management ip for quantum gateways (security group)

Hi,

Been doin this license activation online and offline but got no luck.

The issue is, i have a new management ip. The old management ip was already deleted from the usercentral - assets/info.

Ive generated the new license already using the new management ip and was able to load it manually to the SMC but it says NOT ACTIVATED.

Is there any .xml config that I would edit or steps to be taken to make this activated?

Thanks,

Leangf

Hello,

Could you please provide us screen shot of the message. At the same time, you can try to install license with per SGM IP (192.0.2.1,192.0.2.2,192.0.2.x)

Thank you

Do you have output of cplic print -x?

Hi TheRock,

The output is blank. The main issue i think is the tagging of mac address for the license keys.

I have 3 sec gateways connected to SMHO-140. Already changed the management ip to loopback ip 192.2.0.1, 0.2 and the actual management ip.

My last resort is to do a factory default ALL 3 of the gateways and register. But if the same tagging of mac to license keys from the usercenter portal is not correct, I will yield the same result?

What is the best approach on this?

1.)Delete the entries of the Assets from the usercenter?

2.)Correct the mac to ip tagging for the license key generation?

3.)Factory default to all 3 gateways

TIA,

Leangf

Hello,

Re-license the devices in CP Usercenter according to their actual IP addresses. For example, if the device with MAC address AA has the IP 192.2.0.2, adjust its license to that IP. If the device with MAC address BB has the IP 192.2.0.1 (so 1_1 SMO), generate and update its license accordingly. After that, you can upload these correct licenses to each SGM from the local command line. This will resolve the issue.

After that, I also recommend uploading the latest contract file.

Thanks,

Thanks TK,

Can I delete first the .xml file entry for the license keys so the retrieval will be treated as from the scratch? I suspect the license installed is from the old management ip.

Thanks

Hello

I didn’t understand what is meant by “the XML file.” However, the steps you need to take are very simple. You must remove any licenses you created/uploaded for the SGM(s) using an old IP address that is no longer in use. (To delete them you can use the #cplic... commands or delete them via "cpconfig) After that, as I mentioned, generate and upload the licenses based on each SGM’s actual/dedicated IP address.

Thanks
