When do the counters get reset for tx_flow_control_xon:? 

How can I manually reset the count?

There does not appear to be any mechanism to reset interface counters under Linux.

Similar questions on other forums indicate that ethtool counters would be reset during the initialization of the interface at either at boot or via NIC kernel module removal and reinsertion.
