https inspection cert - install on iphone

Using https inspection on 8 gateways, no issues with the windows PCs as we distribute the cert via AD.  The phone group now wants to add the certificate to IOS devices and can't get it to work.  If anyone has installed the https inspection outbound private cert on an IOS device before, please point me in the right direction.  Pretty much everything i've found online deals with 3rd party trusted certs with root/intermediate certs.
