Raname VSX Cluster

Hi

I've typo'd the main VSX cluster object name (the one that contains the two members).

I can't find a way to rename it. Is it possible?

If I delete it do I then delete the VS that is built within it or is there a way to preserve that somehow?

Many thanks

Hi @Anthony_Kahwati

You must recreate the VSX cluster and the new VS's.

A solution:

1) Move all VS to one VSX gateway.
2) Install a new VSX cluster with a single gateway (Gateway that has become free!) with a new name.
3) Disconnect all network cables from the new VSX cluster gateway (except for management).
4) Re-create all VS on the new VSX cluster gateway with a new name.
5) In the maintenance window:
    - Disconnect all network cables (or disable switch port) from the old VSX cluster gateway.
    - Connect all network cables (or enable switch port ) to the new VSX cluster gateway.
6) Take the second VSX gateway to VSX cluster.
7) Distribute the VS systems on the new VSX cluster.

Thank you

I assume that if I delete the parent object (VSX Cluster) I lose the child objects (VS's)?

No way to preserve them and them import or something like that?

It's very early stages so I am lucky to be honest!

Thanks Heiko

I don't have easy access to the DC though and given they are still in early build stages it's quicker remove and add again 🙂

Thanks both

I'm going to just delete and re-create. There isn't that much on them.

This is surely the best possible way to resolve it  😎
