Next generation of security gateways

Hey,

Anyone have an idea when the next generation of security gateways is due?

I'm asking since we are still using 5000 Series, end of engineering next year.
It might be kind of stupid getting a 6000 Series now to replace the current ones, when the successor product of the 6000 series itself is going to be announced soon.

Looking at the end of life data, there's usually an interval of about four years.

Any rumors out there? 😃

Just my personal opinion, if I were you, I would go with either 6200 or 6400...EXCELLENT firewalls. We have few customers running them, super solid.

Does not indicate end of support/sale, so Im sure they will be around for some time.

Sure, but as I wrote, timing-wise this might not make a lot of sense.

Well, there is no time limit as far as end of sale or support, so something to think about : - )

Well that was my initial question. Maybe we are talking past one another.

6000 was released beginning 2020.

Usually there are four years between models.

Is there sth in the queue for 2024 or not?

I would not know 100%, maybe better check with CP Sales person, they can verify for sure 🙂

Kind regards,

As you can check by yourself here, there are different types for 6k series. Some of them, like 6500 and 6800, already have EOS announced together with the replacement models.

These appliances were introduced in 2019.

Mind you, the replacement cycle is 5, not 4 years. For those from 2020, there is still time. All I can say is stay tuned, we may or may not announce something on CPX 2024 🙂
